HYDERABAD: A 50-year-old man was stabbed to death by his ex-wife in Rajendranagar in the city on Monday. According to the police, the victim as G Raghunatha Reddy alias Sheikh Raheem of Madanapally (Chittoor district), was stabbed by his ex-wife Khatiza Begum in her house at Suleiman Nagar in Rajendranagar on Monday afternoon.

Raheem married 25-year-old Khatiza in 2003 and divorced her in 2006. Later, she got married to one Mohammed Ismail and started living in Suleiman Nagar. Recently, Raheem started forcing Khatiza to desert her husband and return to him. "Khatiza was not willing to ruin her marriage and rejected Raheem's proposal several times," Rajendranagar inspector S Jayaram said.

At about 12.30 pm, Raheem went to Khatiza's house when she was alone and picked up an argument with her. "During the argument, Khatiza lost control and stabbed him on the throat with a kitchen knife. He died on the spot," the inspector said.

After committing the offence, Khatiza surrendered before police. A case was booked against her under section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
